Joe Neff Basore, Jr. is a native of Cherokee Village, Arkansas, and lives in Bella Vista, Arkansas, with his wife, Scarlett. He serves as Senior Vice-President and as a Director of Cooper Communities, Inc., a regional community and commercial property development company, which has developed retirement/resort communities (and commercial real estate) throughout the southeast United States. He serves on the board of the United States Marshals Museum in Fort Smith, Arkansas, and is a Commissioner of the Arkansas State Police.
Neff entered WMA high school in 1967 and graduated in 1971. Following his tenure at Wentworth, Neff attended the University of Arkansas obtaining a BSBA in Accounting in 1976. After his graduation, he worked in public finance in Memphis, Tennessee, and became a Shelby County Deputy Sheriff. Neff still works as a part-time deputy sheriff in Benton County, Arkansas. Neff’s father, Joe Neff Basore, Sr., was a 1947 graduate of the Wentworth (Junior College), commanding Company A Company. Following in his father’s Wentworth footsteps, Neff commanded Company F his senior year. He credits Wentworth for developing discipline and leadership traits that have served him throughout all his business and personal endeavors.
